Best Practices Institute

The National Best Practices Institute (BPI) is a newly created division of WestCAMP, Inc. Its primary mission is to facilitate access to and interaction with world-class management tools and other resources regarding best practices for sustainable, continuous improvement in organizational performance. BPI also helps organizations learn how to develop, benchmark and standardize best practices. BPI is an evangelist for pursuing the incorporation of Lean principles and practices in all organizations.

National Conference

BPI will be holding an important conference on various types of best practices and benchmarks in 2006. The BPI website is currently under development and will be launched in the near future.

Strategic Partners

Strategic partners are welcome in a variety of configurations, with every possible support idea open for consideration. BPI doesn't anticipate having "members," but rather will have associates and partners where all participants learn from one another. The Utah Manufacturers Association (UMA) has committed to be one of BPI's founding strategic partners.

Associate Fees

Annual BPI associate fees are: $25 student; $100 professional; $500 organization (for up to 3 participants at each sponsored event). For partners there are various tax-deductible opportunities available for hosting/sponsoring events, underwriting development projects, etc. Contact the director for details.

BPI Projects

Projects will be a continual emphasis of BPI activity. BPI is partnering with MEP Utah, WestCAMP and several other public and private entities to further the development of VIP-ER, a web-based virtual industrial park application that includes a strong on-line assessment and consulting capability.

Hosted Activities

Anyone interested in hosting site visits, training workshops, or other activities can become a BPI host organization. MEP Utah and Utah Valley State College will initially provide BPI's main office space.
