WestCAMP Strategic Partners

WestCAMP maintains very strong associations with several important partner organizations that are essential for carrying out both WestCAMP's mission and partner goals and objectives.

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

WestCAMP affiliates closely with the U.S. Dept. of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST; www.nist.gov) through its funded support and continuing oversight of the MEP Utah program.

Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED)

WestCAMP is involved through the Utah GOED with several initiatives and projects as described elsewhere on this website. State support for WestCAMP activities is a critical component of the overall goal of WestCAMP to facilitate state-level manufacturing and business development.

BYU's Manufacturing Leadership Forum (MLF)

WestCAMP has a close working relationship with Brigham Young University's MLF program, as well as its Dept. of Manufacturing Technology and College of Engineering. Because of its expertise in developing manufacturing internships, the MLF program is a critical component in several WestCAMP projects. It's also a model of student utilization and placement in engineering and technology-related occupations.

Utah Manufacturing Association (UMA)

WestCAMP and the MEP Utah maintain continuous involvement in and support for UMA activities, including its annual awards banquet, monthly best practices program, and a number of other projects and activities that help support and improve conditions for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in Utah. UMA helps promote MEP Utah training in Lean and other manufacturing process improvement activities.

Utah Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

WestCAMP is working closely with both Utah and other SBDCs around the country to facilitate getting more lean principles implemented in non-manufacturing small businesses. In addition, MEP Utah is helping Utah's SBDC program become more active in business assessment and online coaching, using its new VIP-ER tool to facilitate such processes and activities.
